Meeting topics - 18
Security:
Current cost $4,830.00 per month – one officer limited coverage and performance issues, it is important that security of the children attending school is never compromised. The PTA has decided to change the firm and opt for a firm that can more meet our needs in this important area.
Current Security fee= $40.00 per student
It was agreed by the School’s Principal present, that the following Security procedure be implemented and adhered to with immediate effect:
All VISITORS To School:
1. Please Provide Picture ID to Security on entry.
2. Security Officer to escort Visitor to Principals office.
3. A Visitor’s pass will be issued to grant access to child’s Class Room.
4. The Visitors pass is to be returned to the Security Officer on Logging Out.
In line with the above we are seeking to install a wired intercom connection between the principal’s office and the security at the gate. (By the end of the current term in December 2009)
Cleanliness and hygiene:
We already have a pressure washer asset; we are undertaking the purchase of a ¾ h.p. water pump to work along with the pressure washer to keep the facility clean. (1,500 – 2,500)
Purchase of a Soap dispenser for the trough sink is also being sourced. (Both items to be installed by the start of the new term 2010)
Concessions Control:
Based on feedback the PTA is now monitoring the Concessions as there have been reports of price issues, bearing in mind the main complaint are from children a survey is being conducted to insure that we can have some conformation to certain standards. (Recommendations to be put in place by commencement of new term Jan 2010)
Painting of the building’s facade:
We are currently preparing to write the major paint companies to have pains donated to allow us to give the school a much needed face lift, volunteers will be required. (To be undertaken during the Easter Vacation break)
Current signage to be updated:

1x REMBER TO PAY YOUR SCHOOL SECURITY FEES EVEY TERM
1X VISITORS. CHECK-IN WITH SECURITY BEFORE RECEIVING YOUR PASS FROM PRINCIPAL.
PTA Registration of all Parents:
Registration entails filling out Montrose Vedic PTA Reg. form
One time registration fee $100.00. registration fees offsets finances required to allow the PTA to undertake additional projects enhancing the school for the children.
Create database via forms.
Launching a Montrose Vedic Primary NEWS LETTER
This News Letter will seek to bring more information home to parents as a good source of pupil and teachers evolvement, by their submission of articles of interest.
Articles may be published by Students, Teachers, and even Parents, a religious corner can bring a cultural mix we live to life. (Articles can be gathered for editing review during the new term, additional publication dates to be confirmed)
